After years of using our unfinished basement as extra storage I am thrilled to share with you my very own basement design! The two main goals were a moody space to hang out with our friends and a kids’ zone that houses all their toys. The kids have been loving their new rock climbing wall and my husband and I have been loving the take-back of our main floors. Secret bookshelf doors reveal a secret adult speakeasy as you enter the moody adult bar and lounge. Many conversational areas were created to have separate conversations but all be in one big party. Design elements were included to elevate the space such as paneling in a simple rectangular pattern; my favorite teal hue covering the walls and ceiling; and a faceted backsplash tile that glistens from the backlit shelves.
